There are hundreds of smartphone manufacturers in the world, and I've been collecting data about them for the past several years. I will show you the current data, and explain the methodology of how I collect and use the data. Smartphone manufacturers are catching up with these companies by offering a wide range of styles, sizes, and features that allow for a wide range of needs.
Samsung Electronics
samsung is one of the world's largest electronic and semiconductor companies. As of 2016, they have an estimated value of $200 billion. As Samsung's flagship smartphone business slows down, the company has been shifting its focus to developing the next-generation of conventional smartphones. The company has been allocating more of its resources to its digital health business and AI-powered smart home devices, as well as its Internet of Things (IoT) business.
Apple
For many, the first Apple product they remember is an iPod, but there's more to Apple than that. And more to Apple's history than that, too. While Apple has released a wide variety of products, the real Apple, the one most people know, is the company's namesake device. The iPhone, iPad, and iPad mini are iconic in their own right, but the iPod and iPad Air are the products that first make Apple the company it is today.
Xiaomi
Xiaomi is the fourth-largest smartphone maker in the world, but it's also one of the more innovative. A fast-growing Chinese company, Xiaomi makes smartphones that are inexpensive, but also very functional. The company is worth billions, but it's also been accused of ripping off designs from other companies, as well as misleading its customers.
Huawei
Huawei is a large Chinese telecommunications company, commonly known for its smartphones. Huawei is heavily involved in telecommunications infrastructure, technology research and development, and consumer electronics products.
Oppo
Oppo is a Chinese smartphone brand that first made waves in the USA when it became the exclusive supplier of the iPhone for Sprint in 2013. The company currently holds the largest smartphone market share in China and has expanded in other markets since then.
Vivo
Vivo is a Chinese smartphone brand that markets itself as the perfect blend of fashion and technology. When the Vivo X21 launched in January, it was one of the first Chinese phones to adopt a notch design and then go on to double down on it.
Motorola
When Motorola first introduced the Moto X, it was a phone that stood out from the Android crowd: it was loaded with features that most other Android phones didn't have, and its customizable software allowed you to make it your own. The Moto X's design was simple, and plain compared to the flashy, colorful phones of today, but it was still fun to use. The user experience was unique, and that made the phone a great choice for most people.
