Lifestyle- One of the important topics that need to be discussed. Unfortunately, this tends out to be one of the most underrated topics. I felt I should step-up and convey the stuff related to Lifestyle. Typically, people believe that wearing modern attire, branded accessories, spending time in malls and beaches are the perfect Lifestyle. Actually, in simple terms Lifestyle= Habits+ Personal interest+ our surroundings. In the ocean of topic “Lifestyle”, there is no- right or wrong or true or false. It’s just a matter of opinion and preference. The more we give preference to these, the more the person we are. You can live a military lifestyle or you can lead a simple care-free lifestyle or you can lead a lavish lifestyle. Anything is right and anything is wrong. Habits: Generally, habits are day-in and day-out activities we follow in our routine life. Not only does it signifies wake up time, daily travel, office works, but also what we eat, what time we eat, what time we sleep, what is the time duration between breakfast and lunch, lunch and meal, what is the time duration we sleep, how many hours we spend for physical activities. They play a huge role in determining our habits, which results in determining our lifestyle. If the above things are proper say a person eats fruits and veggies daily, avoids drinks and smoking, exercises daily for an hour, intakes proper food at the proper time, sleeps 7-8 hours a day- the person leads a proper lifestyle. Personal Interest: Personal interest is the most aspect of the Lifestyle. The personal interest defines you. It may be anything- listening to music at night, traveling every weekend to hotspot destinations, or doing leisure activities such as gardening, drawing, painting everything defines you. Personal interest is- you with you. For example, imagine, a person spends time in shopping, watching movies, reading books are his pass-time. So, these are his personal interest where he spends his time. He is leading an entertainment lifestyle. Some show interest on sports activities, some show interest on cleaning activities, and some show interest on travelling. Anything is fine! Our surroundings: Our surroundings play a pivotal role in determining our lifestyle. Our surroundings which includes- Our friend’s circle, our office circle, our livelihood circle, roommates, our social media, everything comes under our surroundings and it maters a lat in determining our lifestyle. If we are brought up under modern/ lavish friend’s circle or livelihood, obviously we tend to show some interest on modern. For all the above, attitude and mindset plays a pivotal role in their life. Points to be noted for Lifestyle: On weekdays: We could follow a disciplined lifestyle in the weekdays. There is a say, ‘Waking up early is the best time’. Absolutely true. But, not every people in India work in regular shifts. The thing is, the time we wake up doesn’t matter. What we are doing after waking up defines us. So, waking up at a decent time and decent hours of sleep is fine. After fresh-up, the physical workout is extremely important. The more we work out, the more we gain energy, the more productive we are. Physical fitness is not all out stepping into the gym. Jogging, cycling, swimming, etc are some of the top-rated physical exercises. So, work-out after waking up. Read books. Listen to motivational stories. We could work-out and listen to videos. While in the gym, cycling, or running, listening to motivational stories and motivational videos on YouTube are recommended. It would give a big boost at the start of the day. So, exercise and listen. Meditation is most preferred after the exercise. After the hard-workout, it’s time for the mind-work out. One has to take care of the mind as equal as the body. So, meditation is highly recommended. At least, sitting in a calm place for few minutes is fine. It makes our mind calm and relaxed. Listing out our day’s activity is the next big thing to be done. All the planned things to be listed down. Sometimes, there would be an unplanned thing from our schedule, like a sudden visit from a relative, or an extended shift in the office. So, work on the unplanned things, finish them neatly, and go our scheduled tasks. The listing should be simple and effective. Office work, Reaching out to a friend, Netflix and Books. Here, we could call a friend even in office hours. We could just watch Netflix even during office hours, say in lunch or break time. We should swap things based on priority. Involve in simple leisure works before you go to sleep such as reading fiction books, drawing, painting, etc. This gives us a calm peaceful mind before you go to sleep. Avoid watching screen time such as phones, tabs, or TV. On weekends: We could follow a relaxed lifestyle in the weekend. Plan the weekend. On weekends, we could make our lifestyle a bit relaxed. Say we could get a little late in the morning, and have a relaxed time. Definitely, the relaxed weekend would give us the pumped up weekdays. You have to work on build our relationships- going to malls or beaches, inviting friends for lunch, watching movies etc. Could make the weekend memorable and set for the weekday. Also, we can spend the weekend productive by updating our skills, learning a new language, joining in meet-ups, etc. Rather than sitting idle, spending some investing some quality time in shaping careers are advisable. A self-disciplined habit is the perfect lifestyle one could follow. A balanced person leads a happy lifestyle. A balanced diet, a balanced work-life, a balanced personal-career, a balanced friendship-relationship, a balanced health-wealth, a balanced party-meet up, a balanced workout-relax, a balanced movie-books is the best lifestyle one could follow. At the same time, lifestyle is not meant to be forced. But to enjoy and stay healthy.
