Have you ever killed a plant ? I have never come across a gardener who never killed a plant. Each one of us has killed fair share of plants, It's often very difficult as beginner to keep plants healthy and in good condition so

I have listed down FIVE plants that are extremely hard to kill according to me.

ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)

This is super hardy plant and can grow in a lot of negligence. This is the plant for beginner gardener because it is forgiving plant and help you in initials days in gardening mistakes.

It is an Air purifier that removes toluene and xylene poison from the air. This plant does love bright indirect sun light and it will really thrives and it is also extremely tolerant of low light condition but it will grow slow, I have kept my ZZ plant in my office where there was no sun light it did really good.

When I water ZZ plant I water it till the water comes down the bottom of drainage halls and I don't water again till the soil is completely dried. ( This is the thumb rule for the most of the plants.)



Jade Plant (Crassula ovata)

Jade plants are succulent indoor plants, They are very easy available and can be easily propagate from cutting and require less water . You can water this plant once in a week based on the weather condition. Jade plant prefer full sun light or 4 to 5 hour sunlight each day

Most existing thing about Jade plant is that they can live for decades so you can gift your old plant to your grand children. I have planned to give my Jade plant to my grand children 😊.



Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata)

• Is tough indoors and can be placed just about anywhere
• will grow beautifully in bright light but the beauty of it If you can keep it in an extremely dark room
• Water your Snake Plants once in a week, depending on your home’s temperature
• is extremely hardy and very tough to kill plant

Money plant (Pothos)

It is very common plant that you have seen in every house because it is pretty easy to keep as plant. This plant will thrives in good bright indirect sunlight but will also tolerate low light for long periods.

About water , If top 2 inches of soils is dried up then give water to this plant. It can grow in soil or water. If You want to grow in water please change the water at least once in a week. They are also humidity loving plant.

Money plant is ideal for removing pollutants from the indoor air such as Benzene, formaldehyde, Carbon Monoxide, and xylene.

Aloe vera Plant

Aloe vera plant is very common succulent plant ( stores water in their leaves) and it required less water.Once soil gets dried completely , you can add water in the plant. It require 3 to 4 hours direct sun lights.



Air pollutant

• Benzene: Products that contain benzene such as glues, paints, furniture wax, and detergents. The air around hazardous waste sites or gas stations can contain higher levels of this pollutant than in other areas.

• Toluene: In homes it may be found in paint thinners, paint brush cleaners, nail polish, glues, inks and stain removers

• Xylene: A volatile liquid hydrocarbon obtained by distilling wood, coal tar, or petroleum, used in fuels and solvents and in chemical synthesis.

• Formaldehyde: It can be found in items such as plywood, particle board, and other pressed wood products that are commonly used to make furniture, cabinets, wall paneling, shelves, and counter tops.

• Carbon Monoxide: House hold appliances, such as gas fires, boilers, central heating systems, water heaters, cookers, and open fires which use gas, oil, coal and wood may be possible sources of CO gas. It happens when the fuel does not burn fully. Running a car engine in an enclosed space can cause CO poisoning

• Trichloroethylene: It can be found in consumer products, including some wood finishes, adhesives, paint removers, and stain removers. TCE can also be used in the manufacture of other chemicals.
