I have this question in my mind for so many years. I often asked this to some of my friends and relatives. Some people accept what I ask and some people start arguing with me. I don't know who really sets the customs that followed behind Marriages, who compel the rules for women that favor men, who said women are weak, who selects boundaries for women. These are all the questions that fill my mind. Let's get into the point, we all know what are all the customs that followed before and after the marriage.

When a woman attains her puberty, she forced to do some things. In some families, parents allow their girls to be liberal. But some relatives who are always interested in gossiping will come all the way back to give a false name for that girl. Then the next drama will start. That is none but marriage. Don't think I am standing against marriage. I am here to stand against all those beliefs. A married woman will have that 'Thali' in her neck, 'Metti' in her toes, nosepin, and etc. She always has to put a set of bangles, a big bindi in her forehead. So, A married woman will have all the identification marks all over her body telling others that she got married. Then tell me, what are all identification of a married man? The answer will be"NOTHING". Am I right or wrong? I strongly appreciate Christians in this. I am noott here to support any caste. But, in Christian marriages, both men and women will exchange rings. But other than Christians, there is no marker for a married man. And for what purpose a married woman having all these things. There itself started the suspicion of a woman. You give her thali, metti, bindi, and all stuff to get her as your slave. Showing people that she is mine. Isn't it? Then say me, how all the married woman will introduce her husband, he is mine?! So here I am asking Who the hell sets all these? Then the next drama did you all noticed behind all the rules that forced on a woman surely that will favor men. Behind her dressings, her studies, her decisions, and her own life. I accept that now people are accepting a woman as they are. But not everyone. "Saying women as weaker sex", why in what way women are weaker than men. Do men bare the cramps that girls have during their periods? Do men bare the pain behind labor? Okay, Do men know how it is? Then why they are saying women as the weaker sex. Did men believe they are stronger because they are going job and earning money? Then what about the working women? She handles the home, she handles her inside pain, she handles her career as well without the help of men. But men, they do-nothing just go earn and lay in bed. Women after returning home she has to prepare for the households. I swear, some men are there who help women but it's so rare. So please don't say Women are weaker than men. She has all the capability more than men. Then the main thing that always makes me pissed off. The bad words that are used by the people always mean a woman. All the bad terms that are drawn upon women. Why is it? In some cases, People use bad terms to scold a man, but the terms he uses will bring up his mother and grandma and daughter and all the women he knows. For what, there are so many bad terms that point out woman. Some may notice this and some may not. I don't know bad terms. But when I happened to cross some people while they are quarreling. I remember one incident that happened when I was in my 7th grade. There were two old men fighting and some people stop them from fighting. People pull the two old men back. So they started fighting with words. I don't know that they are using what crucial terms to fight. I was just 12 years old. My dad and mom locked me inside the room at some point. I asked them for so many times why they did that. But to didn't get my answer for so many years. After when I grew up as a young lady, I came to know the terms of how bad it was. This was one incident I came across.

Then the other one is, when I was in my 2nd year of UG, I used to go by bus to college. It was noon, and I am waiting for the bus. It was quite a crowded place and there was one little cigarette shop. A lady, maybe she is around 30 to 35 years old standing behind me. In the cigarette shop, there were two men who actually harassing her by just words. I noticed the uncomfortable way of that lady. And it hits my mind. I went to college with the same thought. Seeing my confused face, one of my friends asked me why. Then I started explaining all the happenings in the bus stand. Then she told me that the words used by the men were too crucial. They used words of twisted meanings. Oh my God! What these people are? Do they have a brain? It hits me very badly through the years till now. Is there any happiness for men by harassing women? Why the hell! By doing injustice to women is they find any fame?!Wherever she goes, there are men who always suppress her. Whatever she does, there are men who always judge her. It sets for both men and women who constantly there to give gossips and rumors about a girl.

There are some women, who herself orders her daughter to be good and doesn't teach her son to be good. There are women who allow their sons to roam outside giving him a pocket full of money and orders her daughter to stay in the home. Here I want to say one thing to these women, teaching your son not to be lethargic is better than teaching your daughter. Teach your son, your daughter will grow up well. And all the daughters will be safe when you teach your son. Say your sons to respect women.

Automatically there will be no rape cases, no harassment, and all. Then to the men, who always think women are weaker and lower sex, First look upon you, then come and judge women. Break all your customs or else all the women out there will create rules and customs to men. I missed one thing to say, some people argued with me that, they are not creating the customs. The customs that are all created by our ancestors and so they are following.

Here I want to ask you something, our ancestors didn't go out to jobs, they were in the fields and muds. And they are all the people who give dowry to the women they gonna marry. They didn't get dowry from the women. Then why you are going out of the field? Why you are asking dowry? The parents of the daughter will have to give you money, her daughter, and property as a marriage gift. Lol! How fun it is. Giving you their daughter is already a big thing. Then why the hell are you asking for dowry. Give dowry and marry their daughter. This is also our old custom that our ancestors followed.

If all men accept this, then we will accept the things you say. My mom used to say a saying that,First, clean up your things then go and clean other things. I just sugar-coated some words here. Because, if I say the same exact thing in Tamil, it was bad. I guess many of you will know this proverb. It didn't contain any bad words. But it quite uneasy to say here it in the same way. I apologize to all those good men. I blamed only some bad evils that do injustice to women. I have the world's best father and mother and friends, especially male friends who always stand behind me to support and encourage me at any circumstances. I bow my head to all those good hearts.
